For over 50 years Troop 66 has been chartered by the West Suffield Congregational Church located at at the intersection of Mountain Road and North Grand Street in West Suffield, Connecticut. We meet at the church on Monday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. when Suffield Schools are in session.
We are a boy-led unit, made up of about 23 boys and 27 registered adults to support them, and have outdoor events and camping at least once a month, provide service to our community and look for exciting new ways to grow young boys into men. We utilize all the skills and many components of the competitions shown on "Are You Tougher than a Boy Scout" shown on the National Geographic Channel www.natgeotv.com/boyscouts. We have camped at the Herkimer Mines, done a weeklong bike trip on Cape Cod, attended the West Point Scoutmaster's Own Camporee and have our annual "Thanksgiving Dinner Campout" where we cook turkeys on a tripod.
We are always looking for new members and any boy who is age 11 or has completed the 5th Grade and is under the age of 18 is welcome to join. No prior Scouting experience is required.
Everyone is welcome to stop in at a meeting to check us out and join in on the activities we are doing. No prior Scouting experience is required.
Only through the generosity and support of our charter organization, the West Suffield Congregational Church, have we been able to provide a quality program to our local youth.
